Stampin’ Up Lilypad Lake

Thank goodness for color and sketch challenges!  Without them I would be at a loss!  I took my inspiration for this card from paper Craft Crew Challenges and Just Add Ink Challenge Blog. Follow the hyperlinks to go to the challenge sites for more wonderful inspiration.  I’m also entering this card in the Paper Players where the challenge is to create a card with birds.

I used the new Lilypad Lake stamp set and dies from Stampin’ Up to bring this card together.  I just love the heron/egret stamp in this set. When we moved out of Florida in 2008 I was so sad to be leaving behind all of the beautiful water birds. What a delight it was to realize those waterbirds visit Geneva, IL in the summer!  Now, if I could only get palm trees.......

Waterfront Beach Birthday

Just a quick card to show you today using Stampin’ Up’s Waterfront Stamp set.   I laid all of the background color with the stamps onto a 4 x 5 /4” Watercolor paper panel. After all of the color was stamped I blended it with an Aquapainter. Palm Trees were then stamped after the background was dry.  I used the largest Layering Square die to cut out a portion of the finished panel. The square was mounted on a 3 x 3 Early Espresso panel and “popped up” back in it’s place.

This card is being entered in the Seize the Birthday challenge blog where the theme is “beachy birthday”

STAMPS: Waterfront, Best Birds
INK: Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede,  Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Island Indigo, Soft Sky, Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist
PAPER: Watercolor, Early Espresso

Stampin’ Up Climbing Orchid

Here is another card I made using the sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch found HERE.  I have a hard time leaving empty space on a card so I used Nuvo Glitter Accents to fill the space.  Now that it is dry I’m thinking I should have left well enough alone!  I’ll put the bottle out for card class and see what my stamping friends decide but this bottle may be destined for the garage sale table.  I’m sure it’s just “user error” and someone can do remarkable things with this Nuvo product.

On a side note, I’m so sad Stampin’ Up is retiring Tempting Turquoise!  Waaahhhhhh!

Thrill Ride with Paper Craft

I made so many inserts with the Thrill Ride dies for yesterday’s card while I tried to master pop-up. Instead of putting them all in the same kind of card I found another sketch to use for a new card front.  This sketch challenge is from Paper Craft Crew found HERE.

Let the Good Times Roll

This new stamp and die set by Stampin’ Up may not be very versatile but it sure is fun!  The pop-up die is a bit challenging, in the end I ignored the placement guide that is on the die and then everything worked out. After making about nine of the pop-ups I think I’m ready to teach others how to make it in my next card class.  For the card front I used the sketch at Glodal Design Project found HERE

More Than Chocolate

Time to think about Valentine’s Day.  I made these two cards with the help from three challenge this week. The sketch is from Stamp Ink Paper, and the inspiration for the “edible” valentine came from Hand Stamped Sentiments. Over at Try Stampin on Tuesday I found my color and lace idea from their tic tac toe challenge. I selected the diagonal row of pink, heart and lace.

And on the inside of the card.....
